Franck_RS
Rochdale Olympic, Phase 1, 1961. Built for long distance rallying both on the continent and in this country, this car was built on the instructions of Robin Stretton by Scholar Racing.. I purchased the car from Robin early in 2009 with the idea of taking it on more rallies but have now decided to take a different route. This means that the Rochdale is up for sale. ENGINE; MGB unit with unleaded head, roller rockers, balanced bottom end, lightened flywheel, twin SU carburettors, tubular exhaust manifold, electric cooling fan, alternator. GEARBOX, MGB overdrive unit, Sherpa box casting with MGB four syncromesh innards ( better positioned gear lever ), stronger “works” type overdrive solenoid, overdrive switch in gear knob ( Triumph type ). REAR AXLE. Dolomite rear axle and brakes on standard Rochdale trailing arms set up. FUEL SYSTEM. Stainless steel tank in NSR area with supply line and return feed to tank. ( Overcomes any tendency of fuel to vaporise ). Adjustable supply pressure. BRAKES. Front Marina discs and rear Dolomite drums. WHEELS. Four Minilite type 13” silver alloy wheels in very good order, chrome nuts, and nearly new tyres. Five 13” steel Marina wheels, silver painted, with good tyres. GENERAL. Good, single box exhaust system. Rear window has been modified and uses a Perspex unit which can be easily removed to allow access to luggage space, spare wheel etc. Bonnet is removable to allow easier access to engine compartment. Uprated headlight units. Interior is equipped with mat carpeting, period “bucket” seats, inertia reel lap/diagonal seat belts, woodrim steering wheel. MOT until September 2010. Taxed until July 2010. Ready to go!! £7000. Contact David ASTLE 01758 712629 --- Mobile 0797 464 2198 --- david.astle@btinternet.com
